Abstract of Forum Paper:
Regionalism has attained equal or more importance than multilateralism in the today’s trade policy. Each economy is eager to join and get stronger trade blocs. Among those trade blocs, the European Union and the North American Free Trade Agreement is regarded as leading models of regionalism.
Information and communication is fundamental elements of networking nations as well as people. Market integration in information and telecommunications products and services leads integration in other sectors of the market and the society.
This paper focuses on how the EU, the NAFTA and the WTO have dealt with trade in information and telecommunication products and services, with the aim of getting lessons for market integration in East Asia.
