Dr. Nicola Lucchi (Italy), Global Engelberg Research Fellow.
Dr. Nicola Lucchi is a lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Ferrara, Italy, and research associate at the Department of Legal Studies of the University of Ferrara. He is a Fellow of the Center for Internet and Society at the Stanford Law School and he is currently a Global Engelberg Research Fellow at the NYU School of Law. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, and at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Law. His current research focuses on intellectual property issues and rights in digital media. At the Jean Monnet Center, he will work on a project concerning the management of digital intellectual property rights and its impact on consumer protection.
He has published on legal informatics, comparative intellectual property and regulation in the European information society. Among his recent publications are: "Intellectual Property Rights in Digital Media: A Comparative Analysis of Legal Protection, Technological Measures and New Business Models under E.U. and U.S. Law" (Buffalo Law Review, Vol. 53, No. 4, Fall 2005); "The Supremacy of Techno-Governance: Privatization of Digital Content and Consumer Protection in the Globalized Information Society" (International
