Fiona Kennedy completed her LLB degree in Law and Belgian Legal Studies in June 2000 at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. One year of this degree was spent studying European Law at the Université de Liège, Belgium. This degree was followed by professional experience in Brussels within various legal establishments and European organizations. Ms Kennedy then completed her LLM studies graduating in June 2002 from the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium earning the "Master of European Legal Studies".

Whilst an Emile Noel Fellow, Ms Kennedy is also the Executive Director of the Jean Monnet Center.
